Definitions

CalFresh is California’s food stamps (SNAP) program. Medi-Cal is a program that offers free or low-cost health coverage for children and adults with limited income and resources. If you qualify, you can enroll in Medi-Cal year-round. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a Federal income supplement program funded by general tax revenues. ESL stands for English as a Second Language.

Calculations

Percentage of total population was calculated by dividing the total enrollment number by the total County population in that year.

Disaggregation Categories

Calfreh Enrollment is disaggregated by age groups, and ESL.
