Los Angeles County is home to three, world-class research universities: USC, UCLA, and Caltech. These educational institutions combined graduate more engineers than anywhere else in the country.

In 2011, the Los Angeles cleantech Incubator was founded with support from the City of Los Angeles to accelerate innovation in cleantech.
